WHAT TIME DOES THE RETREAT BEGIN?

Our retreat begins at 3:30pm on Sunday with a yoga practice & opening circle

WHAT TIME DOES THE RETREAT END?

Our retreat will conclude after our morning practice on Saturday (approx 9.30am) and there will be time to enjoy brunch between 9.30am - 11.00am before departure

WHAT TIME CAN I CHECK INTO MY ROOM?

Check In is at 2pm.   Check Out is at 12pm.  Earlier/later check in/out can be arranged upon request & subject to availability.

CAN I STAY EXTRA NIGHTS?

Yes - if there is availability.  Contact reception: stay@vikasa.com & let them know you are with my group so that hopefully you have the same room for your entire stay

DO I NEED TO BRING MY OWN YOGA MAT?

No, all (super quality, Manduka) mats & props are provided for you.  Even towels to wipe away the Thailand sweat!!

WHAT IF I FIND TWICE DAILY PRACTICES TOO MUCH?

The yoga practices are designed to accommodate all levels of experience - from complete beginner to the more seasoned yogi.  Within the scheduled yoga practices, you will also enjoy guided breathing & meditation practices along with yoga asanas.  All sessions are optional

I AM TRAVELLING SOLO - IS THAT OKAY?

Absolutely - and you will very quickly meet a wonderful group of women!  Before the retreat I create a WhatsApp group so you can connect with others, arrange travel plans etc if you like

HOW DO I GET FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE VENUE?

When you have your flight details, let me know & I’ll pass them onto the team at Vikasa to have you collected from the airport.  You can charge this fee to your room.

CAN YOU HELP ME WITH ARRANGING MY FLIGHTS?

I have been using my travel agent Alex for the past eight years.  She is excellent at helping to arrange your travel needs.  You can contact her alex@travelncruise.com.au

CAN I EXPLORE KOH SAMUI DURING THE WEEK?

Yes, There is plenty of free time to do so!  It only takes about 1.5 hrs to drive around the whole island & taxis are available

I WANT TO VISIT THE ELEPHANT SANCTUARY - IS IT ETHICAL?

This is a truly wonderful experience! Make food for the elephants, feed, walk and caress them; observe these gentle giants that have been rescued from terrible conditions, enjoying their loving home.  Watch them as they roam, socialise, bathe, play in the mud & live the peaceful life that they deserve

CAN I PAY THE REMAINING BALANCE IN INSTALLMENTS?

For sure! If it’s easier for you to pay a little towards the final balance weekly or monthly, just let me know your plan

WHAT ARE THE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS TO THAILAND?

  • Passport

  • Travel Insurance (recommended)

  • Flight Itinerary

  • Hotel booking confirmation

  • No Covid vaccination required

WHAT IS THE LOCAL CURRENCY AND IS CASH EASY TO ACCESS?

The local currency is Thai Baht.  You don’t need to bring a lot of cash with you.  Banking infrastructure is well developed in Koh Samui.  There are safe & reliable ATMs on every corner that accept all types of cards, VISA and Mastercard preferred, including on the Vikasa premises. 

IS WIFI AVAILABLE?

There is FREE WiFi throughout the resort.  You can easily acquire prepaid local SIM cards at any 7-11 or Family mart.  AIS One-Two-Call or DTAC Happy are recommended.  All SIM cards are 4G ready allowing you to browse the internet at any reasonable speed & rates, when not in WiFi reach.

WHICH POWER ADAPTOR DO I NEED?

If you live in Australia, you need a power plug travel adapter for sockets type A, B, C, F and O in Thailand.

WHAT ELSE SHOULD I KNOW?

Laundry service is outsourced with a next day delivery in most cases. Rates are very cheap.

Closing your room during sunrise & sunset hours when they are usually most active.  Repellants are available in your room.

Towels are available in all rooms.  Pool towels are available at the pool bar.  There are no hairdryers in the rooms so BYO if necessary.
