Restorative Yoga

  • Haven Yoga Studio 37 Main Street Buderim, QLD, 4556 Australia (map)

Some say Restorative Yoga is an advanced Yoga practice…

Restorative yoga uses long-held, supported resting poses to create the conditions for us to cultivate the skill of conscious relaxation and most importantly to release unnecessary habitual tension in the body and mind.

Busyness.
Stress.
Silent killers of the bodily systems (immune & digestive systems suffer) and our mind (memory loss, unclear thinking, anxiety/depression)

The pressure that we put on ourselves to perform and meet the often unnecessary obligations creep up on us until it feels normal.

It’s not.

Our normal state of beings is

Relaxed.
Clear of mind.
Healthy body.
Happy.

The aim of this beautifully nurturing style of practice is to restore balance, to the physical body as much as to the nervous system and mind.

We lay back over bolsters and blankets and receive the sweet feeling of support.

The intention, unlike a yin practice, is to not feel any stretch in the body, any discomfort, but instead an opportunity to completely let go and rest…

Why should you practice Restorative Yoga?

Stress. A busy, modern lifestyle.
Spending so much time in the ON zone and forgetting the ability to switch OFF. Insomnia.

Our heightened nervous system in some ways has become normal for so many people while having a devastating impact on our bodily systems.

I speak from experience and I can not recommend this powerful practice highly enough.

During this two hour classes, you are encouraged to spend the time in a deeply relaxed state.

I will safely guide you there.

The body is able to rediscover its ability to switch on and off at will, balance energy, gently support the flexibility of the spine, massage and restore the internal organs and reset the stress response.

Who can practice Restorative Yoga?

Everyone! You need no previous experience.

Your comfort is of absolute importance so having more props (cushions/blankets) makes this easily achievable.
Remember, there is always a posture that can suit your body.

Please feel free to chat with me prior with any questions or reservations about the practice.
